The Opportunity
Hitachi is seeking a strong, structured, and disciplined leader for an and exciting opportunity to join the team in the position of Service Manager. In this critical position, you will oversee, guide, and manage every aspect of our service operations throughout the Hunter region in NSW. Your objective: surpass the expectations of customers in the Mining and Construction industries while staying within budgetary limits.
Reporting to the Muswellbrook Branch Manager, you will also:
- Ensure that HCA safety culture is embraced, displayed and driven from within - safety takes priority over everything else.
- Maintain compliance with Service Department, Environmental and QA policies.
- Manage financial & productivity performance of the service operation, including preparation of budgets, capital applications, daily controls & targets within company guidelines.
- Measure & analyse WIP, rework, as well as warranty expense, recovery & reporting.
- Work alongside the Aftersales and Major Projects Manager to identify parts and service growth opportunities.
- Oversee accuracy and timeliness of quotations & customer invoicing.
This role is tailor-made for a strategic planner who thrives on efficiently and effectively managing work fronts to meet and surpass business objectives. Your knack for providing holistic customer service solutions from an operational standpoint will be your hallmark.
As the ideal candidate, you will also have:
- Experience in service operations with an OEM or in the mining/construction industries, coupled with the ability to empower a team of dedicated and talented service staff.
- A commitment to enhancing relationships with customers, internal departments and your team.
- Essential tertiary/trade qualifications.
- Diploma or degree in Engineering in a related discipline or qualifications in Management / Business would be preferred but is not essential.
- Financial acumen with a proven work history evaluating labour costs and project expenditure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, time management and strong negotiation / influencing skills.
- To be enthusiastic and motivated to achieve team and company targets.
