The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced Resident Field Service Fitter to join our team, based in the Sunshine Coast Region, with full support from our Brisbane branch.

In this autonomous, customer-focused role, you’ll take ownership of your region—delivering high-quality service while building lasting relationships. You’ll work closely with See Fleet, a major Hitachi customer, offering the opportunity to develop a strong, long-term partnership while supporting their equipment and ongoing operational success.

Reporting to the Field Service Supervisor, you’ll enjoy independence in your day-to-day work backed by a supportive and experienced team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, service and repair Hitachi construction and earthmoving equipment in the field
  • Manage your daily workflow, job scheduling and customer communication
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with a loyal regional customer base, including developing long-term partnerships with key customers such as See Fleet

  • Complete and submit service reports and documentation in a timely manner
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with Hitachi’s safety and quality standards
  • Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and customer satisfaction

About You

  • Relevant trade qualification (Mobile Plant / Heavy Diesel Mechanic or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in field service within the construction, earthmoving or heavy equipment industries
  • Strong diagnostic and technical skills
  • Ability to work autonomously with excellent time management
  • A customer-first mindset with strong communication skills
  • Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement
  • OEM experience highly regarded but not essential
