The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced Resident Field Service Fitter to join our team, based in the Northern NSW Region, with full support from our Brisbane branch.
This is a dynamic, customer-facing role where you will take ownership of your region—building long-term relationships, managing your workflow, and delivering high-quality service to our valued customers.
Reporting to the Field Service Supervisor, you will enjoy a high level of autonomy while remaining connected to a supportive and experienced team.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, service and repair Hitachi construction and earthmoving equipment in the field
- Manage your daily workflow, job scheduling and customer communication
- Build and maintain strong relationships with a loyal regional customer base
- Complete and submit service reports and documentation in a timely manner
- Ensure all work is completed in line with Hitachi’s safety and quality standards
- Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and customer satisfaction
About You
- Relevant trade qualification (Mobile Plant / Heavy Diesel Mechanic or equivalent)
- Proven experience in field service within the construction, earthmoving or heavy equipment industries
- Strong diagnostic and technical skills
- Ability to work autonomously with excellent time management
- A customer-first mindset with strong communication skills
- Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement
- OEM experience highly regarded but not essential
