We are seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead our Emerald Service Department. This is a key leadership role with full accountability for the operational and financial performance of the department, including safety, labour recovery, work in progress (WIP), customer satisfaction and team development.

 

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Hands on leadership and development of our service team
  • Take full ownership of the department P&L, budgets, forecasting and financial performance
  • Drive commercial outcomes, and productivity across workshop and field service operations
  • Actively manage WIP, safety & driving total customer satisfaction
  • Ensure the highest standards of safety, compliance and operational excellence
  • Work collaboratively with Parts, Customer Support and Administration teams to deliver outstanding customer service
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and performance
  • Support workforce planning, recruitment, succession planning and apprentice development
  • Build strong relationships with customers and provide leadership in a fast-paced, evolving service environment

 

About You – We want to hear from you if you possess the following qualities:

  • A Cert III Trade Qualification in Diesel Fitting, Mobile Plant or a related heavy equipment trade
  • Proven leadership experience managing large service or maintenance teams within the mining and construction industry
  • Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated experience managing departmental budgets and P&L performance
  • A solid understanding of labour recovery, utilisation, WIP management and service profitability
  • Advanced capability across Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
  • The ability to analyse data, manage competing priorities and make sound commercial decisions
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive, adaptable leadership style with the ability to navigate changing priorities and business needs
  • Experience within mining, construction, earthmoving or heavy equipment industries
