The Opportunity

We are looking for a highly organised and results-driven Inventory Team Leader to join our team at Hitachi Forrestdale. In this hands-on leadership role, you will lead a small team and take ownership of inventory accuracy, stock control and warehouse efficiency.

Key responsibilities

As Inventory Team Leader, you will be accountable for:

• Leading, coaching and supporting a small inventory team to ensure high performance, engagement and compliance with procedures
• Monitoring and maintaining accurate stock levels to meet customer demand and operational requirements
• Planning and conducting regular stocktakes and cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies and implementing corrective actions
• Optimising storage layouts and warehouse workflows to maximise efficiency, accuracy and safety
• Providing accurate, timely reporting on inventory levels, movements, ageing stock and shrinkage
• Ensuring strong inventory controls, governance and accountability across all processes
• Assisting with the implementation and continuous improvement of inventory systems, policies and procedure

What we’re looking for

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Proven experience as a Stock Controller, Inventory Officer or Inventory Team Leader, ideally within retail, manufacturing, transport or logistics
• Demonstrated experience leading or supervising a small team
• A current forklift licence would be highly regarded
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends
• Excellent organisational and time management skills, with a high level of attention to detail
• Proficiency in inventory management systems and the Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel)
• A proactive, hands-on leadership style with a strong sense of accountability and ownership
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal stakeholders and suppliers
• A continuous improvement mindset, with a focus on accuracy, efficiency and operational excellence
