Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia is a leading supplier of construction and mining equipment and is part of a global business. We are currently seeking a Product Manager with relevant industry knowledge and a strategic mind to contribute to the ongoing growth of the Company’s Hitachi branded medium excavator range. 

About the Opportunity  

As the National Product Manager – Construction Equipment, you will report to the General Manager of Sales - Construction and Forestry. You will take ownership of driving the sales effort, underpinned by strategy development and implementation, to maintain business growth. You will need to analyze construction and equipment markets and ensure Hitachi’s range of products is positioned to ensure our market share meets corporate targets. 

Your key responsibilities will include: 

  • Stock Management: Control stock turn days to meet company targets.
  • Market Share: Actively target market shares for Hitachi products. 
  • Margin Achievement: Achieve targeted margin levels for sales. 
  • Market Analysis: Analyze the market to determine and set equipment specifications. 
  • Sales Support: Prepare market competitive information to enhance sales opportunities. 
  • Strategy Development: Develop and implement strategies to achieve company sales targets. 
  • Training: Organize and deliver sales training. 
  • Collaboration: Work with other departments to maximize support and sales opportunities. 

Additional responsibilities: 

  • Communicate current and long-term objectives and forecasting strategies to key stakeholders, including ongoing communication with our parent company in Japan. 
  • New equipment and accessory inventory planning and management within company guidelines. 

To be successful, you will need: 

  •  Significant experience within the construction industry, either in sales, technical, or product support roles.
  •  Proven experience in developing and executing strategic and marketing plans. 
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills. 
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant management/business discipline are desirable.
