Hitachi Construction Machinery (Australia) Pty Ltd is a leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment.

The Opportunity

Based in the Cavan branch, we are on the lookout for a driven Sales Representative who is passionate about managing and growing customer relationships and sales opportunities. In this role, the key focus is to promote the sales of the Hitachi Construction Equipment range across parts of Metro Adelaide and Regional South Australia.

Reporting to the SA Sales Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing relationships in an existing network of customers within the territory
  • Actively seeking out new sales opportunities (i.e. daily cold calling/prospecting for new business) 
  • General marketing, trade shows and related networking activities
  • Accurate reporting of current and prospective activity, growth potential, market and competitor analysis
  • Maintaining the CRM system to reflect activities performed within your region
  • Meeting market share expectations and other KPI’s provided by Management

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven sales experience within the Construction/Earthmoving equipment industry or similar is preferred but not essential
  • Genuine desire to deliver Hitachi’s Promise of Total Customer Satisfaction as you develop and maintain positive relationships with customers
  • A motivated and competitive drive to not only meet but exceed sales targets
  • Strategic and analytical capability to assess value, including proficiency in CRM
  • Confident, courteous and professional communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and the ability to work autonomously
  • Ability to travel regularly within your region
  • A current driver’s license
