Hitachi Construction Machinery (Australia) Pty Ltd is a leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment.
The Opportunity
Our Toowoomba branch is currently seeking a motivated Heavy Diesel Mechanic to bring their skills to our busy Workshop team.
This is a permanent full-time role offering a 4-day work week (10-hour days), providing great work-life balance while working on a range of heavy mobile plant equipment.
This position will see you primarily based in the workshop, focusing on new equipment assembly and general workshop duties, with occasional field service work as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Assembly of new Hitachi equipment to OEM specifications
- General maintenance, servicing and repairs of mobile plant equipment
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues using tools and diagnostic equipment
- Conduct inspections, testing and quality checks on completed work
- Complete all relevant paperwork and reporting accurately
- Support occasional field service work when required
- Maintain a strong commitment to safety, quality and workshop standards
About You
As the ideal candidate, you will:
- Hold relevant Australian (or recognised) Heavy Diesel / Mobile Plant trade qualifications
- Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills
- Be a proactive self-starter with the ability to work independently
- Take pride in delivering high-quality workmanship
- Be committed to promoting and maintaining a strong safety culture
