The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists for a qualified trades professional to join Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia’s Remanufacturing Workshop. This is a permanent, fulltime opportunity where you will be involved in the disassembly, inspection, repair, assembly and testing of major components in a structured workshop environment.

We welcome applications from qualified Fitters & Machinists, Automotive Mechanics, Diesel Fitters and other tradespeople with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoy precision work and are looking for a long-term workshop-based career.

 

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Perform disassembly, inspection, repair, assembly and testing activities on components to OEM standards
  • Accurately assess component condition and identify wear, defects and required repairs
  • Follow established remanufacturing processes, quality standards and documented procedures
  • Use precision measuring equipment, hand tools and workshop equipment safely and effectively
  • Complete inspection reports and maintain accurate job-related documentation
  • Work collaboratively with tradespeople, trade assistants and support teams to achieve workshop targets
  • Maintain a high level of housekeeping and safety standards within the workshop environment
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity and safety
  • Contribute to a positive team culture built on professionalism, respect and accountability

 

As the Ideal Candidate, You Will Have:

  • A recognised trade qualification as a Fitter & Machinist, Diesel Fitter, Automotive Mechanic or equivalent mechanical trade
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving capability
  • Experience in the overhaul of hydraulic components and maintenance of hydraulic systems would be well regarded.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work
  • The ability to follow structured processes and work accurately in a repetitive, precision-focused environment
  • Experience within manufacturing, component rebuild, automotive, heavy industry or similar mechanical environments
  • A reliable work ethic with excellent attendance and punctuality
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a close-knit team
  • Basic computer literacy skills, including the ability to complete online training, access emails and enter workshop information
