Are you a recruiter who likes ownership, pace, and variety — and wants to see the impact of your work on the ground?
At Hitachi Construction Machinery Oceania (HCMO), we’re continuing to strengthen our Talent Acquisition capability while covering a key parental leave role in the team. This is a hands‑on, end‑to‑end recruitment opportunity where you’ll play a genuine role in keeping critical hiring moving across the business nationally.
We’re open to both experienced internal TA professionals and agency recruiters who are ready to step into – or continue in – an in‑house environment.
The Role
This is a 12‑month contract supporting national recruitment across a mix of operational, technical and corporate roles.
You’ll start by recruiting across multiple regions to build a strong understanding of our people, sites and workforce needs, before transitioning into a more defined portfolio. You’ll be trusted to run your desk, partner closely with hiring leaders, and progress roles in a market that doesn’t always move easily.
This role will suit someone who enjoys:
- Managing competing priorities
- Working with varied stakeholders across locations
- Moving roles forward with limited hand‑holding
- Balancing stakeholder needs with market realities
You’ll be supported by an experienced and a collaborative TA team, but you’ll own delivery.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Delivering end‑to‑end recruitment across a diverse national portfolio
- Partnering with hiring managers to understand role requirements, market challenges and realistic hiring strategies
- Proactively sourcing and engaging passive talent using multiple channels
- Building and maintaining talent pipelines for recurring and hard‑to‑fill roles
- Supporting early‑stage recruitment activities including video assessments and interview coordination
- Managing recruitment activity and reporting through PageUp
- Driving roles to close within agreed timeframes while maintaining a strong candidate experience
What We’re Looking For
You don’t need to tick every box, but you’ll likely bring:
- Solid experience in end‑to‑end recruitment (internal TA or agency)
- Confidence working in a fast‑paced, outcome‑driven environment
- The ability to quickly build credibility with stakeholders at different levels
- Strong sourcing capability, including engaging passive candidates
- A practical, solutions‑focused mindset — you see obstacles and work around them
- A genuine sense of ownership and follow‑through
Experience recruiting blue‑collar, technical, operational or hard‑to‑source roles will be highly regarded.
What You’ll Get
- Hybrid working (up to 2 days WFH after onboarding)
- A supportive, experienced TA team with clear direction and trust
- Autonomy to manage your portfolio and make a visible impact.
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
- Access to employee discounts
