The Opportunity

Hitachi is seeking a motivated and safety-focused individual to join our Newcastle Service team as a Field Service Fitter based out of our Beresfield branch. 

Reporting to the Service Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing diagnostics, repair and maintenance services to our customer’s equipment both in the field and workshop environments.

This role is perfect for someone focused on quality service, proactive problem-solving, and delivering exceptional service outcomes.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Diagnose, service and repair Hitachi construction and earthmoving equipment in the field
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with our customer base
  • Complete and submit service reports and documentation in a timely manner
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with Hitachi’s safety and quality standards

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A relevant Mechanical Trade Qualification (Commercial Vehicle trades will also be considered)
  • Current driver’s license
  • Ability to work autonomously and proactively solve technical issues
  • OEM or earthmoving equipment experience is highly regarded
  • High Risk Work Licences (Forklift, Dogging, Working at Heights, etc.) highly regarded, but not essential
  • A customer-first mindset with strong communication skills
  • Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement
