An opportunity exists to join Hitachi as a Product Support Engineer to support the performance and reliability of its national mining excavator fleet. This role forms part of a specialist team responsible for investigating equipment failures, identifying reliability trends, and developing practical solutions to improve machine performance across Australia.
Your responsibilities include:
- Investigate equipment reliability issues across the mining excavator fleet.
- Conduct failure analysis, component teardowns, and root cause investigations.
- Visit customer sites to assess equipment concerns and gather technical data.
- Analyse fleet performance data to identify recurring issues and improvement opportunities.
- Work closely with branches, field teams, and factory support functions.
- Support the development and implementation of engineering solutions.
- Contribute to national technical projects.
About You – We want to hear from you if you possess the following qualities:
- Degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer or similar.
- Experience within mining, heavy industry, construction equipment, or OEM environments.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and asset reliability.
- Ability to analyse technical information and identify practical solutions.
- Exposure to mining equipment or heavy mobile plant is highly regarded.
- CAD experience is advantageous but not essential.
