Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia (HCA) keeps some of the country's most demanding job sites moving — and the people behind that capability are the technical experts who never stop building knowledge. If you bring deep mechanical or electrical expertise and a genuine ability to transfer that knowledge to others, this Brisbane-based Technical Trainer role is your next step.

What You'll Be Doing

Sitting within the national Support team, you'll design and deliver technical training that lifts the competency of service technicians and internal staff across HCA's product range. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and facilitating hands-on and classroom training programs covering hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems on Hitachi construction and mining equipment
  • Assessing learner competency and adjusting delivery to suit varied experience levels
  • Maintaining and updating training materials to reflect new product releases, technical bulletins, and evolving best practice
  • Collaborating with the wider Support team and product specialists to ensure training content remains accurate and field-relevant

What You'll Bring

  • A trade qualification in Heavy Diesel, Electrical, or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience servicing or supporting construction or mining equipment — Hitachi product familiarity is a genuine advantage
  • Proven ability to deliver structured training to adult learners in both workshop and classroom environments
  • A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent), or willingness to obtain it
  • Strong written communication skills for developing clear, accurate technical content
  • A methodical approach to problem-solving with the ability to break down complex systems for varied audiences

Why HCA

HCA operates at a scale and product depth that few construction equipment businesses in Australia can match. You'll have direct access to factory technical support through Hitachi's global network, meaning your own knowledge stays sharp while you grow others. The Brisbane base offers stability, and the role carries genuine variety — from new starter inductions through to advanced diagnostics programs. HCA's culture is grounded in safety, accountability, and respect for the trade expertise that keeps operations running.
