About Us

Hitachi Construction Machinery (Australia) Pty Ltd is a leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a motivated, relationship‑focused individual to join our Cavan branch as a Sales Representative. Reporting to the SA Sales Manager, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys building connections, seeking sales opportunities and growing into a technical sales career — even if your experience comes from outside the construction equipment industry.

You’ll be responsible for promoting and selling Hitachi’s Light Construction Equipment range across the Metro Adelaide region, supported by a well‑known brand, strong leadership and comprehensive training.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with an existing customer base
  • Proactively identifying new business opportunities through prospecting and networking
  • Representing Hitachi at trade shows, industry events, and marketing activities
  • Keeping accurate records of customer interactions, opportunities and pipeline activity
  • Updating the CRM system to reflect your day‑to‑day sales activity
  • Monitoring market trends, competitors and growth opportunities in your territory
  • Working towards agreed sales targets and performance goals with management support

What We’re Looking For

We’re keen to hear from candidates who bring transferable sales or customer‑facing experience, coupled with enthusiasm, resilience and a willingness to learn.

  • Sales, account management, business development or customer service experience (construction, automotive, industrial or related industries advantageous but not essential)
  • A genuine interest in building long‑term customer relationships
  • Drive, initiative and a positive attitude toward achieving and exceeding targets
  • Confidence communicating with a wide range of stakeholders
  • The ability to learn new products and systems, including CRM tools
  • Strong organisation skills and the ability to work autonomously
  • A current driver’s licence
