About the Opportunity
We have a newly created opportunity for a Design Engineer to join our Mining Support team based in our Corporate Support branch in Wacol, Brisbane.
Playing a crucial role within the Mining Support team, this diverse position will have you involved in all aspects of the department’s engineering requirements, supporting the team and providing functional, safe and sustainable design solutions for Hitachi’s valued customers.
Your innovative ideas will be well supported as you create new designs, modify and improve existing designs using engineering calculation and computational methods ensuring the design meets required specifications and standards.
About You – to be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Safety Commitment with a proactive awareness and total assurance of Hitachi’s number one priority
- Mechanical Engineering Degree with CPEng/RPEQ advantageous
- Technical Design Skillset – Static & Fatigue hand calculations experience & strong computer literacy using 3D CAD, Solidworks with FEA will be highly regarded
- Experience working with heavy mobile earthmoving equipment and conversant with Japanese language will be a distinct advantage
- Customer Focus – Genuinely connected and committed to delivering Hitachi’s promise of Total Customer Satisfaction;
