Hitachi Construction Machinery (Australia) Pty Ltd is a leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment.

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a motivated, trade qualified Auto Electrician to bring their skills to our workshop team. Based in the Dandenong branch, your role will see you performing electrical troubleshooting services and maintenance, component installations and repairs on Hitachi earthmoving equipment.

You will be responsible for:

  • Carry out diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on earthmoving equipment in line with manufacturer specifications, targeted times, and quality procedures
  • Design, install, and test electrical components for mobile earthmoving equipment
  • Perform troubleshooting on Hitachi control systems, including field repairs and reporting of findings
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with Workplace Health & Safety requirements
  • Complete all required paperwork, including risk assessments, job cards, strip reports, assembly check sheets, and timesheets, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Prepare and conduct pre‑delivery inspections and testing of new equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well‑organised working environment

As the ideal candidate, you will have:

  • Relevant Trade Qualification - Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology or equivalent discipline
  • Earthmoving equipment experience highly regarded
  • A commitment to safety and strong understanding of Workplace Health and Safety principles
  • Strong communication skills and a dedication to providing quality work for an OEM
  • Ability to work within a collaborative team environment
