The Opportunity
Hitachi is actively seeking a highly motivated individual join our Revesby Branch as a Workshop Leading Hand.
Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you will be responsible for planning, organising, and supervising workshop operations across both New Build and Retail Repair activities. You will play a key role in ensuring customer requirements are met, while working closely with the Supervisor to achieve departmental budgets and KPI targets.
Key Responsibilities
As a key member of the team, you will also be responsible for:
- Maintain work schedules to ensure efficient utilisation of equipment and resources
- Be responsible for the day-to-day activities of workshop personnel and ensure labour is used most effectively
- Liaise with both internal and external stakeholders pertaining to customers, machine performance, product, workmanship, and warranty
- Ensure HCA employees and contractors comply with all WHS responsibilities and that a safety-first culture is a consistent behaviour within the department
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Relevant diesel or mobile plant mechanic trade qualifications
- Similar leadership experience with strong leadership skills and the ability to get the team to work cohesively
- Demonstrated safety focus with a strong understanding of WHS principles
- Experience in the maintenance of construction equipment (Construction Machinery OEM exposure would be a distinct advantage)
- Excellent time management with the ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities
- The ability to use initiative to contribute and support continuous improvement, and drive change
