The Opportunity

We are on the lookout for an experienced Trades Assistant to join our Service team based in Somerton. Reporting to the Service Manager, you will be responsible for assisting our tradespeople with their day-to-day tasks. This is an excellent opportunity for you to join the Hitachi team and work on some of Australia’s leading Earthmoving equipment. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Material handling and setting up of equipment
  • Assist in coordination of the work schedule and preparing jobs
  • Ensure reports and paperwork are completed in a timely manner
  • General housekeeping and cleaning
  • Conduct your work in compliance with all quality and safety standards and procedures
  • Maintaining rental fleet alongside qualified trades person

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Previous experience in a trades assistant or similar role
  • Previous hand and power tooling experience highly regarded
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication skills and customer service etiquette
  • An uncompromising commitment to quality workmanship and safety policies and procedures
