Senior Mining Support Specialist | Brisbane

As a Senior Mining Support Specialist within the International Operation Section (IOS) Support team, based in Brisbane, you'll be the technical authority that keeps global mining operations running — bringing structured problem-solving and deep product knowledge to some of the world's most demanding mine sites.

What You'll Be Doing

• Provide high-level technical support for Hitachi mining equipment, resolving complex hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical issues escalated from field teams and international customers
• Lead root cause analysis investigations and deliver documented findings and corrective action recommendations to stakeholders across multiple regions
• Partner with IOS colleagues, product support, and parts teams to improve fleet reliability outcomes for key mining accounts operating internationally
• Step up to cover additional responsibilities during periods of high demand or team absence, contributing to a resilient and collaborative support function

What You Bring

• A minimum of 10 years' hands-on experience with Hitachi heavy equipment — this is the foundation the IOS Support team is built on
• A relevant trade or engineering qualification
• Proven experience in a customer-facing technical support role, with the communication skills to engage clearly and professionally across all levels
• The ability to work collaboratively within a team while managing competing priorities independently when required
• Experience working with global dealer networks or international business relationships, including an understanding of cultural sensitivities, will be highly regarded
• Credentials such as welding certification, CAD proficiency, Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing, EA membership, or RPEQ registration are advantageous
