The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced Resident Field Service Fitter to join our team, based in the Bendigo region, servicing customers across Northern Victoria through to the Victorian border, with full support from our Somerton branch.

In this autonomous, customer-focused role, you'll take ownership of your region, delivering high-quality service while building lasting relationships with customers across a diverse range of industries. Reporting to the Service Supervisor, you'll enjoy independence in your day-to-day work, backed by a supportive and experienced team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, service and repair Hitachi construction and earthmoving equipment in the field
  • Manage your daily workflow, job scheduling and customer communication
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers across your regional territory
  • Complete and submit service reports and documentation in a timely manner
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with Hitachi's safety and quality standards
  • Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and customer satisfaction

About You

  • Relevant trade qualification (Mobile Plant / Heavy Diesel Mechanic or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in field service within the construction, earthmoving or heavy equipment industries preferred
  • Strong diagnostic and technical skills
  • Ability to work autonomously with excellent time management
  • A customer-first mindset with strong communication skills
  • Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement
  • OEM experience highly regarded but not essential
