Position Details:

Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia is a leading supplier of construction and mining equipment and is part of a global business.

We are currently looking for a Technical Support Specialist – Mining Excavators with relevant industry knowledge to contribute to the ongoing growth of the companies Hitachi branded range of mining equipment based in our Wacol Office.

Reporting to the Senior Technical Support Manager – Mining Excavators, you will take ownership for building and maintaining internal and external customer relationships, while delivering high level technical & product support that contributes to customer and business success.

Your responsibilities will be: 

  • Demonstrated Safety Leadership and commitment to HCA Safety Policies & Procedures
  • Manage and resolve technical issues relating to our mining excavator product whilst working closely with other HCA departments
  • Provide professional and high level technical communications to our internal and external customers with a focus on problem solving and stakeholder management
  • Scope and manage improvement projects delivering desired results to improve product reliability
  • Work closely with HCA Operations and Customers to deliver Hitachi Reliable Solutions to our mining industry partners

To be successful, you will need:

  • Relevant mechanical trade or engineering qualifications
  • Significant experience in open cut mining, civil earthworks & construction or other related industries, either in engineering, maintenance leadership or technical/product support roles
  • High level analytical and problem solving skills to facilitate resolution of product and technical issues
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal) with the ability to effectively liaise and deliver information at a high level to a diverse range internal and external customers
  • High level of customer service skills with the ability to build and maintain successful working relationships through delivery of Hitachi Reliable Solutions
  • Experience with Hitachi Mining Excavators will be highly regarded
